jingdezhen, a small city in the mountains of east china's jiangxi province, is best known as china's porcelain capital. on the world stage, it is another word for china's quality ceramics. jingdezhen's history of ceramic-making dates back over 2,000 years.

every piece starts with a mold. these are made of plaster and wear out after around 20-50 uses. the production of each item can be done by either pressing or by filling. our parallels collection vases are created by filling which just involves liquid clay being poured into a mold and then left to set. these are then left to dry and, in turn, placed into a kiln as the final step.
